VOA English Website Gets New Look
Voice of America’s English language website,VOAnews.com, migrated to a new content management system Monday, giving users a different look, easier navigation, and more ways to join the conversation on subjects that matter to them.
Images tell a story as well as words or sound, so the new VOAnews.comfeatures more photos in higher resolution. You can see larger versions of photos inside stories by clicking on them.
The new site also makes it easier to find what you’re looking for. Search is faster and more accurate, and categories have been streamlined and simplified.
VOA will continue to focus on the news with the same outstanding coverage from bureaus around the world.
If you’re looking for a language other than English, just go to the upper left corner of any page and choose from one of VOA’s 43 language services.
VOA began the transition to the new content management system (CMS) in March with its Indonesian, Spanish and Creole websites. Eventually more than 50 VOA sites will make the switch, including VOA Learning English, which migrates in the coming days.
The Pangea content management system was created in 2007 by Internet technology developers at VOA’s sister station, Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty. Pangea is a robust application that combines cutting edge technology with industry-proven best practices and has been adopted as the Internet platform for the Voice of America, Radio and TV Marti, Radio Sawa and Alhurra Television.
