OCB Releases Improved Mobile App
With a newly designed app optimized to navigate the connectivity conditions of Cuba, the Office of Cuba Broadcasting is making accessing unbiased news and information in the restrictive country even easier.
Designed to work in poor connectivity conditions, and taking the high price of Internet access into consideration, the Marti Noticias app now adapts to the connection speed of the device, adjusting or deleting image quality for rapid loading. Users can also save stories to read later in an offline mode.
New features also include the ability to personalize the appearance of news items and share stories easily, as well and a function allows users to submit text, video and images to the Martis. This capitalizes on the Martis’ extensive citizen journalist network.
In addition, the new design includes faster touch response and larger images that can be viewed with better quality image screens. Users can sort the news items, swipe through content and receive breaking news push notifications.
User safety remains paramount, and an integrated proxy bypasses censorship and allows users to browse the Internet undetected.
The redesigned Marti Noticias app is available free for smartphones and tablets with Android or IOS operating systems.
