BBG provides data journalism training in Macedonia
The Broadcasting Board of Governors, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Macedonia and the Desert Research Institute, hosted two data journalism workshops for journalists and journalism students, on using data in multi-platform reporting to substantiate and strengthen their stories. In addition to a discussion on visual data representation, the importance of verification and transparency was stressed in the training curriculum.
BBG member Matt Armstrong participated in the workshops, which were held in Ohrid. The two-day workshops were taught by Vedran Andonovski, Chief of Voice of America’s Macedonian Service; Jeff Young, Senior analyst/Correspondent for VOA English TV; and Catherine Schell, Public Affairs Officer from DRI.
