Board reviewed USIM activities in Asia, welcomes new OCB Director
In addition to board business, the board received an in-depth review of the operations and activities of Radio Free Asia in the past year.
The Board also honored the 55th anniversary of Voice of America’s French to Africa Service, the 55th anniversary of VOA’s Spanish Service and the 1st anniversary of Current Time, the joint production of VOA and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. The Board also introduced Maria “Malule” González, the new Director of the Office of Cuba Broadcasting and honored the hard work and dedication of her predecessor, Carlos A. Garcia-Pérez.
The Board also discussed Internet Freedom framework and governance.
