CEO statement on hiring of Sandy Sugawara as VOA Deputy Director
Today, the Voice of America made another step toward positive change and reform with the addition of Sandy Sugawara as Deputy Director.
I’m thrilled with the direction that Director Bennett is taking the VOA, and having Sandy on board will be a tremendous benefit to the network as it shifts toward more digital/social/mobile programming and distribution.
Sandy’s unique skillset and expertise with digital newsrooms will be a tremendous asset to the VOA and its audiences around the world.
I look forward to working with her and warmly welcome her into the BBG family.
