Women Journalism Training
Fifteen women journalists, most of whom works at newspapers or radio stations attended a full day training on radio news writing. The first couple of hours was an open discussion on media trends in the US, globally, and in Africa. In addition to the instruction, there were a couple of activities that helped reinforce the learning. For example, one activity had trainees to take scrambled segments of existing radio news stories and rearrange them in proper order, based on what they’ve learned about standard writing conventions.
