Journalism Workshops in Malaysia
BBG trainers conducted two, three-day trainings for more than 50 Malaysian journalists in Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu from Aug. 8-14, 2016.
The coursework included the following sessions:
- Journalism Ethics
- Legal Aspects of Journalism
- Investigative Reporting
- Crowdsourcing
- Story-Telling
- Disaster Reporting
- Using New Media for Crisis Reporting
- Audio/Video Reporting with Smartphones
Journalists came from a mix of broadcast and print mediums. They were of varied ages and skills levels. All of them, however, used smart phones, social media apps and frequently accessed news online.
