Ghana: Enhance news reporting skills
Journalists were trained to use social media, new media, and mobile devices to expand their audience and enhance news reporting skills according to Voice of America principles.
40 reporters, editors and producers from Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s television newsroom attended the three-day workshops covering the need for fact-based, objective and comprehensive journalism in a democracy; the VOA Charter and Journalistic Code; and ethics and good practices. Special sessions were organized on television directing, producing and interviewing techniques.
Participants completed a survey at the end of each workshop and participated in group discussions with facilitators on the program and its effects. Many expressed appreciation for the interactive format used in the seminar.
