Marketing and Digital Journalism
About 30 journalists from leading newspapers, radio and TV broadcast outlets across Haiti participated in a marketing and digital journalism workshop organized by the USAGM Office of Marketing and Training.
As part of the annual affiliate conference, radio and television producers and editors from VOA affiliates attended a two-day workshop to enhance reporting, editing, and digital production skills. Sandra D. Lemaire, Ronald Cesar and Iscar Blanco conducted the training.
Participants explored balance and objectivity in political stories, covering candidates fairly and sourcing stories. They also discussed the role of international broadcasting.
Regional marketing officer Iscar Blanco led sessions on broadcast management, which looked at the duties and functions of managers, management teams, the organizational structure of radio stations and promotion and marketing.
The session concluded with a focus on the future of digital journalism and the role of women in the media in Haiti.
