Fuchs used charcoal, colored pencil, marker, and acrylic to illustrate de Mello.
“When you see a photograph of Ricardo de Mello you are stuck by his high forehead and his intelligent dark eyes,” said Fuchs.
“Turn of the century German artist Egon Schiele was known for his striking portraits, so this style was a natural choice for de Mello. The distinctive white halo around the final portrait is a classic Schiele technique.”
