Voice of America’s Urdu Service introduces us to a young female boxer, Alia Soomro, whose prowess in the ring caught the attention of the leader of the Pakistan Rangers, a paramilitary federal law enforcement organization. After inviting her to the group’s headquarters in Karachi, Major General Bokhari announced that the organization will take care of her education and training expenses and allow her to practice at the Rangers’ facilities.
