Uzbekistan: In-depth business reporting and covering companies
Covering public money (budget, taxes and public procurement), reading company financial reports and statistics analysis.
Twenty-nine journalists from national and regional television, radio, print and online media outlets across Uzbekistan participated in a four-day interactive on-site/online workshop. Participants improved their skills in covering business and economy, including specific topics such as reading company financial reports, doing statistics analysis, interviewing sources, etc. As part of the workshop, journalists talked to the managers of the USAID Future Growth Initiative in Central Asia and Uzbekistan Government officials, and visited and reported about Naril Textile Invest LLC in Chirchiq, a women-owned small business supported by USAID.
