Kenya: Investigative journalism training
Thirty journalists from Kenya Television Network (KTN), USAGM’s media affiliate in Nairobi, Kenya, learned about investigative journalism. The training explored the impact of the dark web, sources of funding for journalistic investigations, the importance of collaboration for cross-border investigations, and crowd-sourcing. Journalists improved their storytelling skills through this training which included workshops from various experts in the field of investigative journalism. They practiced using new media tools for protecting sources and privacy, collecting and interpreting data, and fact-checking and verification of information.
