Sawa is going digital
Springfield, Va. — Radio Sawa Levant will migrate from FM to the digital sphere on August 1, 2022. The new digital audio service will be available on RadioSawa.com with enhanced interactive and engaging features. Later, Sawa Levant will also be available on a free downloadable mobile-phone application that offers listeners a user-friendly experience, allowing them to get their trusted news, information and their favorite audio programs in a format and time that is convenient for them.
“With 60 percent of the Arab world under 35 years old, this shift will attract and engage a new generation of listeners who get their news digitally,” stated Hassan Shwiki, Acting President of the Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. MBN manages and oversees Sawa radio. “We are excited about this new platform for Sawa as it grows and evolves with the trends in the region.”
The new digital initiative will include existing news roundups and discussion programs, as well as new shows that address topics important to younger listeners. It will also comprise of a robust social media presence to engage and interact with audiences. Daily and weekly podcasts will be available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, SoundCloud, Spotify and other audio platforms.
