Broadcast Management
Training for Standard Group
Thirty mid-level and senior managers mastered their skills to ensure their teams meet deadlines, push boundaries, and set the news agenda. Participants also looked at ways to encourage enterprise storytelling, unique angles, under-covered issues, and follow-up coverage that sets a news team apart. They learned how to manage news diaries, breaking or developing news, forward planning, production schedules and workflows, and why it’s crucial to put your audience at the heart of everything you do.
Station managers explored the importance of decisive, caring, ethical leadership, and what to do when things go wrong on air or online. They discussed the importance of measuring and managing performance, newsroom wellness, mentoring, and staff development.
