Usha Chaudhary, Vance Serchuk join RFE/RL’s Board of Directors
Washington, D.C. — Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) is pleased to welcome Usha Chaudhary and Vance Serchuk to its Board of Directors. They bring a wealth of leadership experience from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

We’re thrilled to welcome them to the board during this crucial point in RFE/RL’s history, as we provide access to information for people living under repressive regimes and face threats from these very governments across the region we cover.”
Chaudhary is COO of the Student Conservation Association and previously served in senior leadership positions at Internews Network, The MITRE Corporation, and Kettler. She also held executive positions at The Washington Post, The Pew Charitable Trusts, United Way of America, and Freddie Mac. Chaudhary earned a Doctor of Business Administration from Drexel University, a World Executive MBA from George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi, India.
Vance Serchuk is the executive director of the KKR Global Institute, the geopolitical analysis unit of the investment firm KKR, and an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security. Previously Vance served as the foreign policy advisor to Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) and as a professional staff member on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. His writings have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, The Atlantic, and Politico. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Yale Law School, and he was a Fulbright Scholar in the Russian Federation as well as a Hitachi Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow in Japan. Vance is on the board of trustees of the American University of Iraq Sulaimani and chairman of the board of the Orianne Society, a nonprofit dedicated to the conservation of reptiles and amphibians.
