Mexico: Conversation with the White House correspondent
Conversation with the White House correspondent
On April 18, 2024, at the Universidad de Las Américas in Puebla, Mexico, a second educational workshop was held, organized by USAGM and Voice of America. Over 200 attendees gathered to hear Jorge Agobián share insights from his career as VOA’s Spanish correspondent in the White House.
For over two hours, alongside Isabella Zozoaga, president of the Association of Women Journalists and Writers of Puebla (Ampep), who served as the session’s moderator, Agobián delved into the inner workings of the VOA Spanish service. He explained in depth the processes of compiling, researching, and daily reporting news from the White House to over 600 affiliates across Latin America and the Caribbean.
In a fireside chat, Agobián fielded questions from journalists and students, covering various topics in anticipation of Mexico’s presidential election on June 2nd.
