The training provided an overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and their relevance to journalism. It highlighted the challenges and opportunities AI presents to media and journalists, explored best practices and lessons learned from using AI tools in newsrooms, and explained the technological, ethical, and legal aspects AI introduces to media production and consumption. The program also focused on developing practical skills using generative AI tools for news reporting, fact-checking, content creation and curation, data analysis, and audience engagement. Participants gained hands-on experience with key open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools for detecting and analyzing information manipulation and learned to verify information through cross-referencing and corroboration using OSINT methods. Trainers led discussions on the future of AI in newsrooms and its potential impact on the media industry.
