Mexico: Journalism, ethics, and new audiences
On September 5, 2024, the USAGM Business Development Office of Marketing and Training held a two-hour workshop at the American University School of Journalism in Puebla, Mexico. Focusing on new and younger audiences, the workshop covered strategies for creating compelling content, digital languages, marketing, metrics, and strategic programming tailored for new viewers.
USAGM Regional Marketing Officer (RMO) Iscar Blanco led the training during his visit to Mexico, engaging with 50 journalism students, academics, and journalists from other media outlets.
The workshop concluded with a brainstorming session, during which participants shared ideas for newscasts, program proposals, concepts for documentaries, reports, and debates on the future of journalism.
