Ambassador Moon Visits RFE/RL’s Sarajevo Bureau
U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina Patrick S. Moon spent more than an hour at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Sarajevo bureau Oct. 8, praising RFE/RL’s professional coverage of the post-communist country’s complex issues.
During the meeting with RFE/RL’s journalists, which came one day after local election were held in Bosnia, Moon said communication and cooperation between political leaders is the key step in reforming Bosnia’s constitution, and denounced “unconstructive” statements about the country breaking apart.
“[They] are certainly not in the best interests of the citizens of the country who have terrible economic challenges — unemployment, agricultural issues and foreign investments. These all suffer.”
RFE/RL’s interview with Moon will be broadcast on the Balkan Service’s “TV Liberty” program, which is shown on over 50 Bosnian stations.
