Niger’s Abdourahmane Ousmane Visits the BBG
In conjunction with the U.S. visit by Nigerien President Mahamadou Issoufou for the U.S.-African Leaders Summit, the President of the Conseil Superiere de la Communication of the Government of Niger Abdourahmane Ousmane is visiting Washington, including the Broadcasting Board of Governors and the Voice of America.
The BBG welcomed Ousmane on Monday, August 4 and has arranged a series of meetings throughout the week for him within the organization, as well as with the Department of State and other parties. Briefings will include a discussion at the Hudson Institute in coordination its president, Kenneth Weinstein, who also serves on the Board of the BBG.
Ousmane’s visit follows meetings in late June in Niamey with the BBG’s Bruce Sherman, the director of the Office of Strategy and Development, and Joyce Ngoh, regional marketing officer for West Africa, related to media coordination and FM broadcast licensing.
