VOA Reporter’s equipment snatched
In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a uniformed military police officer snatched an iPhone that a VOA reporter was using to take pictures of worker rally that marked the Labor Day at Veng Sreng street, a scene of violent crackdown by authority on past protests early this year. The reporter requested that the officer return the device, but was initially met with another threat of arrest if he pursued the matter. This happened even after the journalist clearly identified himself as a reporter with the Voice of America. Only after intervention from their superior was the device was returned.
