Alhurra takes medal at New York Festivals
Springfield, VA — Alhurra Television’s Delusional Paradise won a bronze medal at the 2017 New York Festivals International TV & Film Awards.
At the awards ceremony in Las Vegas, the ground-breaking documentary series Delusional Paradise won the Bronze Award in the category of Best Human Concerns Documentary. The winning episode, “Arraqah Screams…I Am Not Daesh,” documents ISIS’s coercive actions that killed the dreams and aspirations of people who asked for democracy and greater freedoms during the early days of the Syrian uprising in Arraqah city. “Arraqah Screams” exposes ISIS’s barbaric brutality and denounces its claims to represent Islam. The series portrays the ordeals of families and communities who lost loved ones to ISIS and were forced to leave their homes to seek refuge.
