New morning lineup rejuvenates the Martís
Miami, FL — The Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB) announced the revamping of its morning programming block to include “Levántate Cuba” (“Wake Up, Cuba”). The three and a half hour morning news magazine show, which begins at 6:00 A.M., provides Cubans with engaging and uncensored information on current events in Cuba, the U.S. and around the world, with segments dedicated to sports, health, culture, entertainment, and technology.
“Levántate Cuba” is part of a larger effort to meet the continued need for accurate and reliable information in the country. It is one of several new programs offered by TV and Radio Martí including a day-long simultaneous broadcast on YouTube, martinoticias.com, Facebook Live and other platforms.
The daily lineup includes live news bulletins every half hour, from 5 A.M. until 9 P.M., Monday through Friday. “Deportes al Mediodía” (“Mid-day Sports”), at 12:30 P.M. is a general sports
talk show with live call-ins; “Tras La Noticia” (“Behind the News”), in the afternoon goes deeper into the news that is censored in Cuba; and “La Revista de la Noche”
(“The Evening Review”) at 9 P.M. offers a forum for Cubans to speak freely and openly about art, literature and culture.
