Hillary Rodham Clinton

On January 21, 2009, Hillary Rodham Clinton became the 67th Secretary of State of the United States. She served until February 1, 2013.

Prior to becoming Secretary of State, Mrs. Clinton has served in the United States Senate as the junior senator from New York, a post she was elected to in 2000 and then re-elected in 2006. In the Senate, she served on the Armed Services Committee, the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, the Environment and Public Works Committee, the Budget Committee and the Select Committee on Aging. She was also a Commissioner on the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe.

As a former First Lady, and previously as an attorney, Mrs. Clinton was an avid advocate for human rights, democracy and civil society.

Mrs. Clinton is represented on the Board by Ambassador Tara D. Sonenshine, Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs
