The Middle East Broadcasting Networks partners with Ideas Beyond Borders to create exclusive video content
Washington, D.C. — The Middle East Broadcasting Networks (MBN) — which informs, educates, and empowers audiences throughout the region through Alhurra TV and Radio Sawa — will create video content based on translations of select articles and books made by Ideas Beyond Borders (IBB).
“We are thrilled to partner with MBN to help make our English-to-Arabic translations even more appealing to people hungry for knowledge,” said Faisal Saeed Al Mutar, founder of IBB. “We have already translated dozens of books, thousands of articles, and millions of words. Video versions will further encourage critical thinking around topics ranging from civil rights to science.”
Video content will be co-branded MBN and “Bayt-al-Hikma 2.0,” the translation program of Ideas Beyond Borders. Designed to rekindle the region’s “Golden Age” when freedom of speech, open dialogue, and evidence-based science were embraced in the Middle East, the program will now be expressed in multimedia format thanks to the new partnership with MBN.
“I’m very excited by this first step,” said Alberto Fernandez, President of MBN. “Ideas Beyond Borders shares our mission, and has created thought-provoking content we can’t wait to adapt to video and share across our network.” The pilot program will include selected submissions from IBB translations. The distribution will take place across MBN platforms and make otherwise inaccessible content accessible for Arabic speakers globally.
