West Coast News Conference on Radio Sawa
The Broadcasting Board of Governors (www.bbg.gov), the federal agency that supervises all non-military U.S. international broadcasting, will hold a news conference to unveil for the first time on the West Coast the story behind its music-driven Middle East Radio Network. The Arabic-language news and music station has attracted huge audiences across the region. Governors will also discuss worldwide broadcasting initiatives for the 21st Century in Central Asia (including Afghanistan and Iran), Asia, Africa, and Eastern and Central Europe.
