Alhurra.com wins Web Excellence Award
Springfield, Va. — The Web Excellence Awards announced today that Alhurra.com won Best Website: Media/News Award. The Arabic-language digital platform provides audiences with the most up-to-date news, detailed analysis, compelling video reports and fact-based content to provide audiences all the information they need to better understand complex issues.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by the Web Excellence Awards. Alhurra.com is a mainstay of the Middle East Broadcasting Network’s (MBN) digital outreach to Arabic-language audiences,” stated MBN Acting President Hassan Shwiki. MBN manages and oversees Alhurra.com. “This is a true testament to the journalists that go beyond the facts to produce compelling and thought-provoking content.”
In the past year, Alhurra.com has also been recognized by the Webby Awards, New York Festival-TV and Film and the Telly Awards.
The 9th Web Excellence Awards competition set a record by receiving over 1,350 submissions from 29 countries worldwide, including 38 US states and other countries such as Australia, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, Turkey, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Iran. The Award of Excellence is given only to those entrants who represent the best on the web.
