In a candid conversation, the American University in Mexico engaged in a dialogue with Celia Mendoza, an International Broadcaster and State Department correspondent for the Voice of America (VOA), delving into her professional journey, the associated risks, and the ethical principles guiding VOA in its mission.
Celia Mendoza shared insights with Tania Gómez, Director of the Department of International Relations and Political Science at the university, in the presence of over 80 journalists, academics, and students. The event, facilitated by the television department of the prestigious university, was organized in collaboration with the Association of Women Journalists and Writers of Puebla and the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which oversees the Voice of America.
These discussions and workshops were coordinated with USAGM’s Office of Development and Training and aimed at preparing international journalists for the forthcoming Mexican elections scheduled for June 2nd, 2024.
