Radio Svoboda correspondents attacked
Radio Svoboda Kharkiv correspondents were attacked on May 1 by the pro-Russian activists at the central square in Kharkiv. Our correspondents were able to continue live streaming after the pause, when pro-Russian activists blamed them in distorting information, naming them “fascists” and started beating them about the head and the back. The journalists intended to film how the activists were burning the Ukrainian flag. Local police intervened and escorted Radio Svoboda correspondents away from the scene by car.
