In honor of World Press Freedom Day, the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) will host its first-ever Press Freedom Film Festival. The week-long, online festival will feature documentaries produced for audiences in media-restricted environments and behind-the-scenes conversations with the enterprising journalists and filmmakers.
"The USAGM networks regularly use high-quality, informative documentaries and reports to illuminate critical issues for people living in some of the darkest corners of the globe," said USAGM CEO and Director Grant K. Turner. "This film festival is an excellent opportunity for viewers to understand what our audience of 350 million people already knows --the importance of our public service media networks in providing uncensored and unbiased news and information as a catalyst for freedom and democracy."
